Visiting Assistant Professor, Physics

 

The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa (UT) invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics position starting in August 2024. This is a nine-month term position with the possibility of an extension to a second academic year depending on Department needs.

 

Responsibilities

We are seeking an energetic individual with an enthusiasm for teaching physics and astronomy at the undergraduate level, including both science and non-science majors. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in undergraduate education and primarily be responsible for teaching general physics courses and labs, with the possibility of teaching more advance courses depending on experience and interest. Engagement in Department, College, and/or University service is also expected. Scholarly activity will be encouraged but not required.

 

Qualifications

A MS in physics, astronomy, or other closely related field is required, PhD preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Review of applications will begin on June 1, 2024.
