Do you want to help your department adopt practices that are more effective and equitable? Join leaders of the Effective Practices for Physics Programs (EP3) Initiative for a virtual workshop on departmental leadership! This free, interactive workshop will be held on Wednesday, 15 May, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET and is open to astronomers and physicists at all career stages.
The EP3 Initiative is designed to empower program leaders (current and future) to create and sustain effective departmental change. In this two-hour, interactive session, co-chairs of the EP3 Initiative David Craig and Michael Jackson along with Christine O’Donnell, Senior Program Manager at the American Physical Society, will share principles and practices that will help astronomers and physicists at all career stages lead inclusive and equitable programmatic change.
This virtual workshop series, brought to you by AAS and the American Physical Society and funded by a venture grant from the American Institute of Physics, will continue this fall and next spring with more virtual workshops on education. Look forward to workshops on the following topics:
- Equitable mentoring practices, presented by Inclusive Graduate Education Network (IGEN) & Equity in Graduate Education;
- Undergraduate recruitment and retention, presented by EP3; and
- Inclusive classroom teaching techniques, presented by the Physics and Astronomy Faculty Teaching Institute (FTI).
